Q: We had lightening strikes in the area, and now it seems our PhoneMail system isn’t communicating with our Siemens PBX. How can we fix this?”
A: If you can log into PhomeMail, look at the TA (error log) to see what PhoneMail is actually doing. If it is trying to communicate to the PBX and not getting a response, you’ll need to dial into the PBX and display the SIO port for PhoneMail and make sure it’s showing up. If the SIO port shows ‘down’ you may have to try a minor restart on the PBX to reinitialize the port. Once the port is reinitialized, your PhoneMail should come right up.
