Q: The mute button on the Optipoint 500 Advance at my desk does not work. This feature is vital as much of my work is conducted via telephone conferences. We’re running a Siemens HiPath 4000 PBX.
A: It sounds to me like you’ve got a wrong button table assigned to your OptiPoint Advance. Sometimes the technician who installs the phone can assign the wrong button table. Techs sometimes refer to this table as the ‘Tapro.’
Even though the faceplate reads ‘mute,’ it’s likely that it has the wrong configuration. I would need to have a list of how the current buttons are labeled, and then reconfigure the ‘Tapro’ to match your button configurations.
Custom ‘Tapro’ configurations allow a personalized set of functions for OptiPoint faceplates, and the Telizent team would be happy to assist you.
